L’Odysse De Cartier – Epic 3 Minute Commercial

Wow! This is really epic!

Louis Vuitton Exhibition in Paris

If you should be in Paris beween March 9th and September 16th 2012, you should definitely plan a stop at the Les Artes Deforatifs.

The opening exhibition tells the stories of two iconic men in the history of past and present fashion – Louis Vuitton himself and the current artistic director of his emblemetic luxury fashion house Marc Jacobs, highlighting their overall contributions to the fashion world in two different eras. On two floors, dedicated to each of the creatives, the show illustrates the parallel stories of Vuitton and Jacobs and their credit and achievements in terms of respectively ancient development in luxury fashion and contemporary trend setting.  For sure a must-see while in in town.

Designers Lost in Fashion

Chinese artist Liu Bolin, famous for his overall talent in terms of extravagant art, recently jumped into photography, putting together a colorful set in Paris. For his collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar he placed designers Jean-Paul Gaultier, Lanvin’s Alber Albaz, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli and Angela Missoni into their own patterns, willing to hereby show the visionary and emotional connection they all have with their shemes and creations and somehow lose themselves in their work.

The result of a great day of fun, color explosions and a hell lot of paint and worth a look.

Back to paper

BergCloud’s Little Printer gives an idea, how analog and digital media might work together in the future. You can print a lovely mini-newspaper in form of a receipt by using a smartphone and your personal RSS feeds. The little guy even smiles at you.

ART AGAINST KNIVES

A really great initiative against youth violence.

You can help by purchasing a T-shirt of various young designers (or just donate money).
An initiative, which also makes it even more fun.

Discovered in the Boxpark pop up mall in Shoreditch, London.

Song of the day – “Both Sides, Now” Joni Mitchell

“Something’s lost but something’s gained in living every day”

«I’ve looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.«

more architecture between reality and fiction

The Belgian artist-photographer Filip Dujardin recovers the art of collage between reality and fiction, to create a new language based on the modernist architectural tradition.

People often expect Dujardin’s “buildings” to be undiscovered pieces of Eastern European or Russian constructivism – while in fact, they only exist in Dujardin’s prints. They are the result of his scouting trips around Belgium, where he collects the occasional moment of often fairly conventional 20th-century structures, and then uses them as digital matter from which to collage his buildings.

manipulated City Portraits by Victor Enrich

The spanish photographer Victor Enrich manipulates his own photographies to create impossible and rather fantastical structures – like a tower that has been unzipped or a house turned upside down. Enjoy the sometimes surreal new designs….
