It it for sure not only us, knowing industrial designer Tom Dixon for his conceptual aesthetics, be it in terms of lighing design or furniture. Right now, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan, he is giving a preview on his latest design project, this time more related to apparel than to furniture. Together with Adidas, Dixon is presenting his visions for stylish clothes, combining the dimensions of functionality and fashionability.
What I can say is I totally loved his parka turning easily into a sleeping bag, the totally cozy hoodies that can be zipped into small space-saving bags (so great for non-stop travelling people) and a rather stunning five-in-one overall piece, being a coat, jacket, pant, skirt and shorts in one. Not easy to imagine, right?!
It is not only apparel Dixon put his creative perspective into – in his colab with Adidas, one could find milti-functional accessories such as backpacks, cases or even really stunning shoes.
If you are in town, you should definitely check out the installation at MOST and check out some of the pieces I found really cool.
big thanXX to Milan style icon Stefano Carloni for his cool pics.
The ultimate lifestyle factory DIESEL welcomes fashion law-giver Nicola Formichetti (former Creative Director at Mugler) as new Artistic Director. I am so super excited to see what Nicola and DIESEL are capable of together. One thing is for sure – it’s gonna be ground-breaking and really huuuge!

Everybody is obsessed with Givenchy – apparently my buddies at Barneys too. Take a look at the amazing video they directed, featuring the actual Spring-Summer 2013 collection of Givenchy and get an idea how super-human Riccardo Tisci sees men this season.
I would be more than happy to see more men dress like that…
At the latest issue of the furniture fair HOMEDEPOT in Vienna, the creative crowd at DIESEL again proved to the world that they are pretty awesome not only in designing denim stuff. This is where the iconic Italian brand presented some creations worth combining with your DIESEL jeans and jackets.
Timeless shapes, rough textures on metals and wood and decent coloring – these were the guiding themes for creative chef Wilbert Das and his crew.
Now have alook at the pieces and start matching them with your jeans.
For the SS2013 Prada experiments a multi-faceted collage of hand-drawn and painted shapes, casting the shadows that they project.
Simplicity, poetry and sentimentalism, processed through imaginary cinematic scenes; characters yearning in a world of sophisticated feelings, eluding nostalgia to inspect longing and legacy.
Restraining versus revealing: conflicting attitudes in a series of intimate and social situations.
Get ready for a great summer with Prada.
