LE BOOK CONNECTIONS #first day

Here are some first impressions of our visit at LE BOOK CONNECTIONS at Café Moskau in Berlin!

LE BOOK, the international reference for fashion, photography, and advertising, is currently hosting the international networking event CONNECTIONS, the customized tradeshow for the professional creative industry,  at Café Moskau in Stuttgart. Day one started off by discussing the relationship between Fine Art and Branding, amongst them Berlin-based Photographer Andreas Mühe and Patrick Marinoff from automotive brand Maybach. The Global Brand Director, presented the company’s communication strategy, based on its engagement with contemporary artists such as Julian Schnabel or David Lachapelle to raise more brand awareness and re-build the brand’s image in a more modern way. „Our approach is, to give the artist the freedom to do what they want. If you want to connect with art, you have to take it like it is. Don’t try to change it and take the risk“, he said.

Back in September, LIGANOVA has been co-hosting the Pre-Connections Cocktail in Stuttgart at Waranga. Get some impressions of the creative get-together by this former blogpost!

Damir Doma Boutique Opening Paris

In the course of Paris Designweek, we’ve joined the Boutique Opening of “L’Atelier Damir Doma” at the Boutique Éphémère of L’Eclaireur. The temporary retail space is both, boutique and art installation imitating the fashion designer’s studio. Selected artworks of Japanese sculptor Hiroyuki Hamada from the private collection of Bodo Vincent Andrin, Founder & Managing Director LIGANOVA, are exhibited there until September 22rd. The amazing works of Hiroyuki Hamada served as main inspiration for the current fall/winter collection 2011/2011 of Damir Doma. This is the first time that pieces from the “LIGAart“ Collection are publicly on display.

Altogether, we’ve had an amazing evening and became acquainted with lots of great people, such as Marketing Director Carlo and Senior Brand Manager Christina from Damir Doma. Thank you, guys, for this inspiring event!

Here you’ll find some more impressions of the opening…

Karl at a glance

Recently Saint Tropez offered a rare sight: Karl Lagerfeld sans glasses! It´s been over ten years since Karl went without his shades – in the documentary “Lagerfeld Confidential”. Now he´s been seen “in the nude” with bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau at a Saint Tropez café. The immaculately dressed designer always proofs to be quite a sight (note how his polkadot-tie is right on point with the Zeitgeist) but in this case he´s the sight of the day!

Copenhagen Fashion Week – Highlights

The highly anticipated fashion show by Bruuns Bazaar took place at the headquarter’s patio and was definitely one of our highlights wihin Copenhagen Fashion Week! One simply has to love the Scandinavian minimalism by Rebecca Bay! Take a peek at the show in the video and see the whole collection here! Further, we loved the Spring/Summer Collection 2012 by Stine Goya. Take a closer look at the collection here! One of our favourite side events so far has been the 2ND DAY Store Opening by Danish brand DAY Birger et Mikkelsen.

Gallery Copenhagen – first impressions

Within Copenhagen Fashion Week from August 3rd – 7th, leading design driven brands are currently exhibiting at Gallery: Henrik Vibskov, Stine Goya, Baum und Pferdgarten are just a few of the brands at Forum Copenhagen. We love the Scandinavian design driven fashion brands and don’t want to deny you some impressions of the fashion fair. Enjoy!

housewarming party at DIESEL’s

It has like forever been my dream to invite all my friends over for a really big housewarming party, but each of my new flats somehow isn’t actually that big to host all my friends. Either I have a really tiny budget for a big appartment or I have way to many friends…but I guess one can never have enough friends, right?! Shit, it has to be the budget-thing then…

Anyway, for the first time of my life I had some fun at an actual housewarming party – no wonder, it was the one the guys from DIESEL threw in Belrin last week for Fashion Week. They called for a show on their SS 2012 womenswear collection but never said there would be something as great happening as it was… Getting in, one was being given a very warm welcome hug by the housewarming party hosts – extremely cute models, wearing very home-style DIESEL casual outfits – totally proper for their housewarming party. There was just all you could think of belonging to the known home-like-setting: a party kitchen with some stews boiling, some home made cake, light drinks, small things to eat, beer and all else just to take out of the fridges. No arrogant waiting stuff, no slimy bartenders – just good friends around, ready to pass you a drink out of the fridge. All was followed by a pretty cool catwalk, presenting the SS womenswear collection Renzo Rosso created with his amazing team, who not only know how to design fabulous clothes, but also know how to throw some great parties.

Hats of for the extraordinary set design, location and atmosphere!

Karl’s favourite places in Paris

Any place turns into a total Hot Spot when Karls has even once been there. So, if you happen to be in paris soon, check out his favourite locations in the city.

My favourite shop is Colette on Rue Saint-Honoré.
For jewellery I go to Lydia Courteille on the Rue Saint-Honoré and for books Galignani on Rue De Rivoli, and my own bookshop, 7L on Rue De Lille. For clothes I shop at Dior Homme and I buy my paper at Sennelier. It’s next door to where I live – it is the most famous place for paper, pencils and stationery.

Although he names Raspoutine, Club Le Baron and Le Montana as the coolest places to spend an evening out in the city, he himself prefers a quieter social life.

I tend not to go to public places, I go to people’s houses. I am not a cocktail party person and I have no need, no want, as I have already done a lot of this in my life.

He is, however, partial to dining out.

I love to go La Maison Du Caviar because they have the best caviar in the world – there is nothing like it and I have been going since I was 16 or 17,. I also like the atmosphere and food in Café De Floré.
