Last Friday, we’ve hosted the 4th edition of LIGAconvent - our in-house workshop series with lectures by internal experts and international guest speakers. We’ve enjoyed a day expanding horizons and full of energy – with interesting talks about current trends and developments in the industry. Amongst our this year’s guest speaker: Dr. Ulla Ertelt, Partner and Managing Director of HML Modemarketing and President of DMI, the German Fashion Institute, and Chris Aubrey, VP Global Retail Marketing adidas. In preparation for the upcoming edition of  Connections in Berlin on 20th/21st October 2011, Le Book and ADC Switzerland are hosting the next Pre-Connections Cocktail at Zurich next Tuesday. So if you’re in town, don’t miss the get-together at Plaza Club Zurich. Further, we didn’t want to deprive you of the latest edition of Paris 2011 from Le Book which is dressed by one of the most recognizable artists of the twentieth century, graffiti artist and neo-expressionist painter, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988). Yesterday night, Stuttgart`s creative scene met at the Pre-Connections Cocktail organised by Le Book and LIGANOVA at bar WARANGA. As media partner, kinki magazin also joined the event.

Interesting people, nice location, good music and great drinks – what else do you need for a perfect event?

In the course of Paris Designweek, we’ve joined the Boutique Opening of “L’Atelier Damir Doma” at the Boutique Éphémère of L’Eclaireur. The temporary retail space is both, boutique and art installation imitating the fashion designer’s studio. Selected artworks of Japanese sculptor Hiroyuki Hamada from the private collection of Bodo Vincent Andrin, Founder & Managing Director LIGANOVA, are exhibited there until September 22rd. The amazing works of Hiroyuki Hamada served as main inspiration for the current fall/winter collection 2011/2011 of Damir Doma. This is the first time that pieces from the “LIGAart“ Collection are publicly on display.

Altogether, we’ve had an amazing evening and became acquainted with lots of great people, such as Marketing Director Carlo and Senior Brand Manager Christina from Damir Doma. Thank you, guys, for this inspiring event!

From September 2. to October 5., in celebration of the new Hermés store in the KaDeWe Berlin and the official opening of its renewed boutique, Hermés sets up an exhibition hosted in the KaDeWe. It will show the interpretations of US designer and artist Hilton McConnico on some of the iconic Hermés patterns and a further new Hermés pattern, made by the French grafitti artist Kongo. A part of the sales earnings will do for supporting yoing artists.

Yesterday night, our headquarters-team has been enjoying the weather with a  cool BBQ! Following the summer sounds of DJ Heiko Wolthaus, we’ve been spoilt with fresh grilled food and cool summer drinks. And for the perfect cooling-off we’ve been provided with some cool retro squirt guns! What a night!

Tomorrow, our India team is going to celebrate the first out of ten store openings for ‘People’ / Madura Garments in Bangalore ( – check out the news for more information). Our team has designed, developed and produced the new retail identity store concept and is also in charge of the implementation. Take an exclusive peek at our work for the Indian fashion wear brand. The highly anticipated fashion show by Bruuns Bazaar took place at the headquarter’s patio and was definitely one of our highlights wihin Copenhagen Fashion Week! One simply has to love the Scandinavian minimalism by Rebecca Bay! Take a peek at the show in the video and see the whole collection here! One of our favourite side events so far has been the 2ND DAY Store Opening by Danish brand DAY Birger et Mikkelsen.

Within Copenhagen Fashion Week from August 3rd – 7th, leading design driven brands are currently exhibiting at Gallery: Henrik Vibskov, Stine Goya, Baum und Pferdgarten are just a few of the brands at Forum Copenhagen. We love the Scandinavian design driven fashion brands and don’t want to deny you some impressions of the fashion fair. Enjoy!
