Todd Selby is a portrait, interiors, and fashion photographer and painter/illustrator. He began taking pictures of creative people – artists, designers and musicians for example Stephen Powers/artist or Alexander Wang/fashion designer at their home places or working spaces in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, and London. Todd’s first book “The Selby Is In Your Place” will be released in May 2010 by Abrams.

A Minimalist Version Of The Fortress Of Solitude
The Santambrogio design firm is known for its minimalist glass creations, from stairways to sofas.
The glass home is a collaboration between founder Carlo Santambrogio and designer Ennio Arosio featuring a series of iconic furniture pieces, beds, sofas and bookcases, along with architectural elements such as staircases and kitchens. They are all fashioned from ‘extraclear’ glass.

LADY GAGA DOLLS BY VEIK
Customized dolls crafted to resemble the reigning Goddess of Costume Changes: Lady Gaga. These babies were hand made by Veik, a 29-year-old artist from Beijing, who crafted them at home from every day items like pen, paper and nail polish.

Albert Elbaz created a series of stamps for the French La Poste as a part of the celebration of Lanvin’s 120th anniversary. They will go on sale early next year.
La Poste will also be selling pencils, paper presses and notebooks by Lanvin. There’s even going to be a separate Lanvin store on the post office website.

To Destroy is to Create – To Create is to Order
“The challenge to destroy the own creation is more than bitter for a designer. Even in the everyday life, acts of destruction are taken as the definite contrary of a creative process. To destroy something which has been created with your heart and soul? Never!
I want to show with my book, that there are options to apprehend the destruction not only as an absolute destruktive act, but as a possibility to use it aware and conceptual for the creative workflow. By accepting the dissolution of a material or abstract array as a creative method, debilitating habits and logics can be questioned within the creative process. This way of the unscheduled and spontaneous enables innovation. In my book I’m analyzing the relation of chaos, order and destruction. I want to expose the role of the destruction within the creative process on the basis of the work of established artists and designer like Duchamp, Arp, Tinguely, Burrughs, Rainer, Carson or Gehry.
The design and the structure of my book equate to my appeal to dare destruction and innovation finding a new arrangement: Forget everything you know and work with the things you don’t know.”
