LE BOOK CONNECTIONS #first day

Here are some first impressions of our visit at LE BOOK CONNECTIONS at Café Moskau in Berlin!

LE BOOK, the international reference for fashion, photography, and advertising, is currently hosting the international networking event CONNECTIONS, the customized tradeshow for the professional creative industry,  at Café Moskau in Stuttgart. Day one started off by discussing the relationship between Fine Art and Branding, amongst them Berlin-based Photographer Andreas Mühe and Patrick Marinoff from automotive brand Maybach. The Global Brand Director, presented the company’s communication strategy, based on its engagement with contemporary artists such as Julian Schnabel or David Lachapelle to raise more brand awareness and re-build the brand’s image in a more modern way. „Our approach is, to give the artist the freedom to do what they want. If you want to connect with art, you have to take it like it is. Don’t try to change it and take the risk“, he said.

Back in September, LIGANOVA has been co-hosting the Pre-Connections Cocktail in Stuttgart at Waranga. Get some impressions of the creative get-together by this former blogpost!

fabulous artist, fabulous brand, fabulous work…

The extremely talanted and now very happening French artist Julien Colombier, who is just one of the names in the creative crew of the remerkable artist agent Thierry Kauffmann, has just set London’s fashion crowd in trance by showing his masterpieces at the Chanel pop-up store in Harrods. The iconic French brand has produced a pop-up book in collaboration with the illustrator / paper artist / set designer Colombier as a part of a huge and remerkable installation on over 350 square metere at Harrods in London.

The fancy project will occupy the third floor of Harrods with an exhibition showing a mini-version of the Versailles gardens set from the Chanel Spring / Summer  2011 show. Shining in the first floor, the Chantel boutique will present ready to wear, bags, shoes and costume jewellery with a selection of exclusive pieces on sale especially for Harrods. There are also plenty of beauty products to choose from, including a limited edition Knightsbridge Collection by Peter Philips, creative director of Chanel makeup. The Chanel pop up at Harrods will be open for 3 weeks, so hurry up.

“Reading between te Lines” by Gijs & Arnout Van Vaerenbergh

Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh have completed a see-through church in Limburg, Belgium. The ten metre-high church is constructed from 100 stacked layers of weathered steel plates. Gaps between these plates allow visitors to through through the walls. With its pointed spire, the building imitates the form of traditional churches in the region. Entitled Reading between the Lines, the project forms part of the Z-OUT programme coordinated by the Z33 gallery, which aims to bring art into public space.

Movie posters

Did you recognize them? Schwedish designer Patrik Svensson has designed some minimalistic posters of popular movies and tv series. Albert Exergian also dealt with some well-known tv series and transformed them into his designs.  Really inspiring work …
