I am really sick of all these cheesy pics of the giant Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center people keep on uploading when in NYC for the holidays. With me it’s different – one of the most spectacular decorations I spotted this season was the one at the Alexander Wang boutique at 103 Grand Street in Soho. Well, this is what a call a classy X-Mas theme.
If you are in town for the holidays, check out the matte black geometric-shaped trees and this cute jumbo sized bear, all paired with stunning oversized black leather bows.
May Santa bring you lots of Alexander Wangs along with the usual dose of health, peace and love.
Happy holidays, guys!
Gorgeous jewelry designer Ina Beissner presens her latest creations on Berlin’s iconic beauty Franzi Mueller in a campaign shot by Alexx and Anton – the ultimate proof that Berlin does not only go for used and fucked-up looks, but also knows glamour and class.
From Sketch To Store – this is how the guys from French Connection call their latest Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign, featuring models posing naked whilst having their actual outfits sketched on their body by illustrator Jo Bird.
Pretty cool, right?!
Now imagine these motives covering a huge billboard in your street – pretty amazing I think…
If you should be wondering who’s idea it all was, here is the answer – creative concept and direction all made by Rankin and his team, absolutely ensuring a wide spread of the visuals.
Chek out these shots of a latest US Vogue editorial, featuring helmeted duo Daft Punk and American topmodel Karlie Kloss. Shot by Craig McDean down West 42nd Street in New York, the multi-spread editorial parlays the dance icons into the fashion world, while Kloss stands as statuesque as ever.
If this was all some sort of reharsal for an upcomming video project is still to be wondered about…
While everybody else was checking up the multiple exhibition venues around the Salone del Mobile, I jumped over to Maison Martin Margiela Milano to discover French artist Cédric Bernadotte’s installation of “Residual Spaces”, showcasing furniture and objects, wrapped in industrial cellophane. Really WOOOW!
It it for sure not only us, knowing industrial designer Tom Dixon for his conceptual aesthetics, be it in terms of lighing design or furniture. Right now, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan, he is giving a preview on his latest design project, this time more related to apparel than to furniture. Together with Adidas, Dixon is presenting his visions for stylish clothes, combining the dimensions of functionality and fashionability.
What I can say is I totally loved his parka turning easily into a sleeping bag, the totally cozy hoodies that can be zipped into small space-saving bags (so great for non-stop travelling people) and a rather stunning five-in-one overall piece, being a coat, jacket, pant, skirt and shorts in one. Not easy to imagine, right?!
It is not only apparel Dixon put his creative perspective into – in his colab with Adidas, one could find milti-functional accessories such as backpacks, cases or even really stunning shoes.
If you are in town, you should definitely check out the installation at MOST and check out some of the pieces I found really cool.
