While everybody else was checking up the multiple exhibition venues around the Salone del Mobile, I jumped over to Maison Martin Margiela Milano to discover French artist Cédric Bernadotte’s installation of “Residual Spaces”, showcasing furniture and objects, wrapped in industrial cellophane. Really WOOOW!
It it for sure not only us, knowing industrial designer Tom Dixon for his conceptual aesthetics, be it in terms of lighing design or furniture. Right now, during the Salone del Mobile in Milan, he is giving a preview on his latest design project, this time more related to apparel than to furniture. Together with Adidas, Dixon is presenting his visions for stylish clothes, combining the dimensions of functionality and fashionability.
What I can say is I totally loved his parka turning easily into a sleeping bag, the totally cozy hoodies that can be zipped into small space-saving bags (so great for non-stop travelling people) and a rather stunning five-in-one overall piece, being a coat, jacket, pant, skirt and shorts in one. Not easy to imagine, right?!
It is not only apparel Dixon put his creative perspective into – in his colab with Adidas, one could find milti-functional accessories such as backpacks, cases or even really stunning shoes.
If you are in town, you should definitely check out the installation at MOST and check out some of the pieces I found really cool.

At the latest issue of the furniture fair HOMEDEPOT in Vienna, the creative crowd at DIESEL again proved to the world that they are pretty awesome not only in designing denim stuff. This is where the iconic Italian brand presented some creations worth combining with your DIESEL jeans and jackets.
Timeless shapes, rough textures on metals and wood and decent coloring – these were the guiding themes for creative chef Wilbert Das and his crew.

We are almost through with the fashion week season and had crowned all the city hopping around Lindon, Milan and Paris with a sublime finale – the Moncler Grenoble FW 13/14 presentation at the Gotham Hall in New York. Just as always, sure all brands wanted to top each others top-model bookings for the shows here, but noone could beat this – 370 hot male & female models all dressed in Moncler. The venue – incredible itself – was built up in five rows with steps, rising ten metres in height and covering the circular walls along which the models were lined up. Green and light blue in all facets dominated the hall, bringing the majestic nature of forest mountains into the city.
